oil on canvas, 100 x 120 cm, 2016 Definition of light by Lyn Treloar (extrait) «...Light is the soul of all sentient beings - a fine gossamer veil - a phantom of lucidity - transcendance that catches an instant by its appearance - a glimpse of enlightenment. Light is the music of silence, the transparency of colour. Light is fragile, presenting only an impression of solidity. Light is space - like life, it is ever changing and impermanent."

LIGHT CYCLE

Project started in 2015 and in progress since. One day, while walking with my family, I met the eyes of my son, who was then one year old, and I saw in his eyes something that had no beginning or end, the light of soul. After this experience, light as a metaphor of being remained in my thoughts for two years and finally sprouted into a project in which the light of others would be present.

The project consists of an interaction in which I ask people who are either close or without any direct link with me, to give me a personal definition of light in writing or in another form. When a definition is shared with me, I make it my own and create a canvas based on my understanding, my feelings and my analysis of the definition. The common point between each canvas is their size which is 1 m by 1.20 m.
